Soul Windows SERIES
Soul Windows is a spirited series about our connection to transcendence. The artworks in this series were created 2020-2021. They provide opportunities to contemplate the hidden reality behind the mundane reality we can see with our eyes. Modernity – the author of the scientific method – has reduced the real to what can be observed, documented, and replicated about the natural world and our bodies. This has left many of us uncertain about subjectivity and those things that we feel or that happen to us that remain unexplained. Each tapestry features bold black marks that create soul windows through which we are meant to peer into the beyond, to recognize, as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry did, that “Behind all seen things lies something vaster; everything is but a path, a portal, or a window opening on something other than itself.”
